We came up with this unusual workshop because we often get requests from students who want to make a vase, but making one as a beginner can be quite difficult - however, we found a way!
A vase means centering and controlling almost 1kg of clay in a single piece, which is a real challenge for anyone new to the wheel. In this workshop you'll throw two separate bowls instead, each a manageable amount of clay, and then join them together into one vase.
Learn the basics of wheel throwing in a small group.
If you’ve always wanted to give pottery a go but didn’t want to commit to a lengthy course, then this is the perfect class for you. These workshops are for absolute beginners, so you don’t need to have any experience!
The session will start with a quick demonstration of throwing a pot on the wheel. You will then get to jump on the wheel yourself and get stuck into centering clay, pulling the walls and shaping your very own ceramic pieces! Once your work is ready, you will have the opportunity to add textures and colours. There will be hot drinks and cookies offered.
In just one session you will make 1 fully finished piece and receive it within 4 weeks after the workshop since it requires firing and glazing.
Workshop duration and pricing
While the price per participant remains the same, the duration of the workshop increases with the number of participants. This ensures that each participant receives the necessary attention and guidance from the instructor, allowing for a more personalised experience.
A throwing wheel workshop for lovers!
This special edition date workshop is meant for couples who want to deepen their connection, get creative together and explore new modes of expression.
In this 2-hour session, you and your partner will each work on your own pottery wheel to throw matching bowls. Then, just like your relationship, these two pieces will come together—attached and transformed into a single, unified form such as a vase.
Once your work is assembled, you will have the opportunity to add textures and colours. There will be hot drinks and cookies offered.
You will make 1 fully finished piece and receive it within 4 weeks after the workshop since it requires firing and glazing. Beginners level - no experience needed!
Two hearts. Two bowls. One beautiful creation.

Clay N’ Wine workshop is a unique chance to try two ways of creating ceramics: hand-building and wheel throwing while sipping a glass of wine. Don’t feel like drinking wine? That’s ok! We also offer tea and soft drinks.
This time you can learn about the Japanese technique in pottery: Neriage. Neriage is done by laminating different colored clays together and throwing them on a wheel to develop a swirling and spiraling effect.
How does our workshop work?
Wheel throwing: during this part, our teacher will demonstrate a simple step-by-step guide on how to approach the pottery wheel and support you in creating your first ever ceramic marbled bowl. Once made you will move to the table to make a plate.
Hand building: When you're not at the wheel, you'll have the opportunity to explore hand-building techniques and create your own plates. You can choose the shape and size that best suits your style, using clay slabs to bring your vision to life.
What's Included:
By the end of the class, you'll have two beautiful pieces! Once made, your beautiful handmade clay works will stay with us for firing and clear glazing. You’ll return 4 weeks later to collect.
Don’t worry if this is your first experience with clay, as you’ll receive plenty of guidance from 2 teachers and class sizes are kept to a maximum of 10 students.
